There’s something truly energising about the start of a new term. I’ve always believed that life gives us daily opportunities to do better. Each new day is a fresh start—and that’s a powerful mind-set to have, not just for us as adults, but especially for our children.
No matter what yesterday looked like, you deserve to believe that today is another chance. A clean slate. Let’s teach our children that too. They don’t need to be defined by a bad day, a mistake, or a tough moment. The past is the past—learn the lesson, and start fresh. So here’s to new beginnings, a new term, and a renewed sense of grace for ourselves and our kids.
And when it doesn’t go perfectly? Get up, and try again. Keep going—you’ve got this.
Some housekeeping:
A big thank you to our Parents, Coach Nica, and Mr Pienaar for your ongoing support and encouragement of the magazine. Your contributions—whether it’s photos, time, or kind words—mean so much.
And let’s not forget the incredible role our teachers and teacher assistants play in our children’s journey. We are incredibly lucky to have such dedicated teachers and teacher assistants in our school community. They go above and beyond every day — not just to educate, but to encourage, uplift, and guide our children. Their impact extends far beyond the classroom, shaping character and building confidence. Let’s continue to support them wherever we can.
Please also take a moment to support our advertisers. For many of them, this is their own fresh start in building or growing their businesses. Click through, see what they offer, and support local—it’s always lekker!
Speaking of Mr Pienaar: as many of you may know, he’ll be retiring on the 29th of August. We’ll be putting together a special magazine in his honour. If you’re an alumni, or if you have photos or messages you’d like to share, please send them through—you’ll find our contact details on the Credits page.
We hope you enjoy this issue, and we can’t wait to see you and your children shine in Term 3!
