Dear Rand Park Primary Family,
As Term 3 draws to a close, I am delighted to reflect on the incredible energy, achievements, and spirit that have filled our school. What a term it has been! We are deeply grateful for the wonderful support of our parents, who continue to stand alongside us in every endeavour.
Academic Excellence
After the completion of the short test cycle and school based assessments on 19 September, it was encouraging to see improvement in many learners’ marks. We applaud both our learners for their hard work and our staff for their commitment to academic excellence.
Community Spirit
One of the highlights of the term was our annual Biscuit Run. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our families, biscuits were delivered to four old age homes, spreading warmth, kindness, and smiles. This act of service truly reflects the heart of our Rand Park community.
Sporting Achievements
Our learners have once again raised the Rand Park Primary flag high on the sports fields.
• Athletics: Our team excelled at the Prestige Top 5 meeting, proudly securing a 3rd place overall.
• Hockey: What a season! The majority of teams made it to the D10 quarter-final play-offs, and our Under 9A girls emerged as district league champions. Congratulations to every player who gave their best this term.
• Cross Country: Weekly participation was strong, with Sergio Monginho, Sophia Tromp, Aaryan Naidoo, Josie Chauvet and Bokamoso Morgan selected for the District team. A special congratulations to Josie and Bokamoso, who went on to represent Gauteng!
• Tennis: Ethan Wilson remained undefeated in his Junior Boys matches—could we have a future Federer in the making?
We are now eagerly looking forward to an exciting Term 4 of swimming, cricket, and senior tennis.
Leadership and Service
A special mention must go to Miss Mynhardt and the prefect body. They have done a sterling job behind the scenes, ensuring the smooth running of so many aspects of school life that often go unnoticed. Their quiet but powerful contribution is deeply appreciated.
Looking Ahead
The last stretch of the year is going to be filled with joy and celebration! We can’t wait for our Talent Show (21–23 October), where learners will showcase their creativity and flair. Please also support our beloved Grade 3 Christmas Play. Entry will be R10, with proceeds going to Rainbows and Smiles, a foundation that supports children diagnosed with cancer and their families.
Moving Forward Together
At Rand Park Primary, we remain committed to upholding the values and standards that define who we are. We believe in staying connected with our parents and working hand in hand to create the best possible environment for our learners. As we approach Term 4, let’s embrace the excitement of the months ahead. Together, we will make the final chapter of 2025 a memorable one!
Best Regards
Mr Niehaus
