Thank you!

Dear Mr Pienaar,

Wow, so the time has come. As much as we are sad, it is an honour to send you off into a well-deserved rest. A true legend through the generations, you have dedicated 39 years to shaping and guiding children – and in doing so, you have shaped us as parents too.

So many of my friends, their children, and now our own children have had the gift of being taught or led by you. You may not always have realised it, but your presence has reverberated through our school community. On behalf of all of us as parents, I can say with certainty: we will miss you deeply.

Thank you for your love for this school, for our teachers, and most importantly for our children. We see it in the manners they bring home, in the lessons about respect, in the way they remind us not to litter “because Mr Pienaar said so.” We see it in our children’s care for their schoolwork, and in the amazing little humans they are growing into. And most of all, our children will miss you – the way you cheered them on, kept them in line, and believed in them. They will miss hearing your voice echo across the corridors, your watchful eye on the playground, and the pride you showed in them every day. And oh my goodness, I’m going to have to find a new threat to replace, “I’m going to call Mr Pienaar!” And although you were strict, it always came with a lot of heart and pride – and deep down, we all know you’re a softie.

You have always carried such pride in our school, and in return you have honoured our children by helping it progress and grow. From ClockTime – thank you for trusting us with the chance to create this magazine and to share your voice and heart with the community. We will miss your funny stories, your smile, your seriousness mixed with humour – and above all, your big heart.

As for this magazine, thank you, Mr. Pienaar, for making time for us, we know your time was precious! A special thanks to one of our Moms, Sascha Fermor and Debi Adcock Photography, for your wonderful photos and hard work Every picture in this magazine is theirs—you have captured the love perfectly through your lenses. To Mr. Brunner, Mrs. Willis, Mrs. Veysie, and of course all the staff who were involved in organising these events and this magazine—your hard work was clear in every detail. We truly appreciate the effort, and it showed. Thank you! As a further thank you, there were parent gifts, children’s gifts, heartfelt messages from parents, and so many thoughtful touches—too many to mention individually, but we know Mr. Pienaar appreciated them deeply.
